More to be desired [are God's commands] than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
Better than that.
God's word, his revelation to us, is better than gold and sweeter than honey. It is better than the best thing you can imagine. The Bible isn't a weighty burden on us, it is good for us. Because it tells us the good news about who Jesus is and what he has done, it is like the treasure in the field that was worth selling everything else to buy (Matthew 13:44). It is like the pearl that was worth selling every other pearl (Matthew 13:45). It is for His glory, but His glory is also our greatest good!
