You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name's sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. (Luke 21:16-18)
This seems like a contradiction - some of you will be put to death... but not a hair on your head will perish. Contrary to how it seems in this life, death is not the end, it is not the worst thing imaginable that should be avoided at all costs. Death is not out of control if you're in Jesus' hands, where every hair on your head is known and protected. Some of you will die, but you wont perish, you will be with Him.
