I live to make more money

"I live to make more money. People who say that money is the root of all evil are morons, a lack of money is the root of all evil."
Gene Simmons

This quote stands out because we have become socially conditioned to not talk like that, even though we live like it's true. Phrases like "money can't buy happiness" or "you can't take it with you" are repeated as common wisdom, even though we all tend to ignore it. We know not to say out loud that money would solve all our problems, but our actions show that we think it probably will.

The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk
(Revelation 9:20)

for my people have committed two evils:
    they have forsaken me,
        the fountain of living waters,
and hewed out cisterns for themselves,
broken cisterns that can hold no water.

(Jeremiah 2:13)

Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
(John 4:13-14 )
