God's plan for your life

We often hear that God has a plan for our lives. Brilliant, but what is it? What is God’s will for your life?

This is it:

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful in Christ Jesus:
(Ephesians 1:1 ESV)

In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,
(Ephesians 1:4-5 ESV)

making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
(Ephesians 1:9-10 ESV)

having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
(Ephesians 1:11-12 ESV)

Paul has been given this message - the gospel - by the will of God. We have been chosen for adoption in accordance with his pleasure and will. He has made known to us the mystery of his will - to bring unity to all things under Christ. His will that we would put our hope in Christ to reflect something of his glory.

God’s plan for your life is less about what job you do and where you live - His plan is that you would hear and believe the gospel. His plan is to adopt you, to redeem you, to forgive you, to give you the gift of the Holy Spirit to make you more like Jesus. And all of that is part of the cosmic-scale plan to reconcile everything under Jesus. Click to Tweet this
It’s a pretty good plan!
