It’s yours. For free.

Are you on the treadmill of trying to be a good person?

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight
(Ephesians 1:7-8 ESV)

Christianity is not a belief in a higher power and an effort to try and be a good person. The uniqueness of Christianity is God’s grace. The God that we have intentionally rebelled against, chooses to make us pure, adopts us into His family, redeems us out of our slavery, forgives us, gives us the Holy Spirit and brings us into his plan to restore the entire universe. He doesn’t do that in response to us doing something in return. He does it because He loves us. He gives it.

In the verse above, we hear about the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. That language is not the description of a stingy God. He lavishes His grace on us. You have not exhausted the supply of His grace.Tweet this
Every day, we are tempted to think of our relationship with God as dependant on our performance. Stop and think about His grace today.

Our shame was deeper than the sea, your grace is deeper still
