The good news about who Jesus is and what He has done is the best possible news for everybody in any situation. But we don’t often see it like that.
At best we tend to think about Christianity as the spiritual equivalent of eating spinach - we know it’s supposed to be good for us but we don’t expect to enjoy it!

The gospel is not the equivalent of receiving a self help book on how to become a millionaire. It is a phone call telling you a million pounds has just been deposited in your account.
Sin is that we try to substitute ourselves for God. God responded by substituting himself for us.
The gospel is news that produces change. If there is no transformation, then it might not be the gospel.
God has determined who your neighbours are, who you work with and even the family you were born into in order that people may come to know him.
The church is God’s plan for his mission, our sanctification and his glory. We can not come up with a better plan!
People who sit near each other while listening to a sermon before heading off to live separately until next Sunday is not the church as God intended it.
