Sarah lived to be a hundred and twenty-seven years old. She died at Kiriath ArbaGenesis 23:1-2
Despite the great promises made to Abraham, he still lives in a dying world. Despite receiving the promise of a land, the only bit of land he currently owns is the tomb he buys for Sarah. Abraham does not see everything fulfilled.
I also live in the 'now and not yet'. Jesus has won the victory over satan, sin and death but I still live in a world experiencing their effects.
This should mean I am not crushed by the experience of sin but also that I am not living as if this is as good as it gets. I grieve the brokenness around me now, but with hope that it will not always be this way.
