When Judah saw her, he thought she was a prostitute, for she had covered her face. Not realising that she was his daughter-in-law, he went over to her by the roadside and said, ‘Come now, let me sleep with you.’Genesis 38:15-16
The family tree of sin continues as Judah's sons sin against Tamar, who then pretends to be a prostitute and Judah sleeps with her. There is then a bit of self-righteous hypocrisy thrown in as Judah wants Tamar burned for sleeping with someone, before the public humiliation of realising it was him who impregnated her. These are Jesus' ancestors!
Jesus family line is made of messed up people, just like yours and mine.
No matter how messy life and family has become, it is not beyond the redemptive power of Jesus
