Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the , like the land of Egypt.Genesis 13:10
Abram and Lot need to separate. Lot looks around and chooses what looks best, but will turn out to be a disaster. Abram is confident to take whatever is left, trusting God more than what looks good at the time.
All my decisions are made like Lot. I look around, make a list of pros and cons and choose what looks best. That can sometimes be fine, but not if I'm trusting my eyes more than God's word.
When making decisions, I should not ignore what I can see, but I need to look at God as well as looking around. He is the one who can really see what's going on.
